Some sessions make me sweat more than others. This one required me to shower after. But when you end up with images that even mom cant believe are possible then I know I did my job well. Now on to the pictures that made me smile while editing:

This face just melts me:

Easiest child to photographer, EVER!

Every sessions brings it's own unique elements but that's the part that I love. Your session will be about YOU!

What to Wear

Many times one of the most stressful parts of a family or child photo shoot is: WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR???  But no worries, I'm here to help.. During our pre-session consultation I will assist you with what colors and patterns work better together, where you might be able to find some cute outfits if you are going with a theme, or even show you pictures of some of the adorable outfits I have in my prop collection.
I also suggest you take a look at this pinterest page that I have compiled of lots of helpful tips for coordinating outfits for a photo shoot:

A session does not have to become a complicated stressful event. Wear something that you feel comfortable in, otherwise it will show in your portraits. The rest is up to you and the style of the session your going for. I have clients who wear anything from jeans and t-shirts to sequin gowns.

Outfit Tips:
1. Coordinate but don't match exactly.
2. Be comfortable in your clothing.
3. Make sure it fits well (not loose and not too tight).
4. Think to yourself "will these photos go with my home decor" ? (if planning on hanging these in my home)
5. Don't forget to add some accessories.
6. Patterns are ok, but not every person in the photo should be wearing a loud pattern.
7. Add some layers to your outfit. Layers photograph nicely and add dimension to your outfit.
8. No characters on clothing!
9. Keep location of shoot and season in mind.
10. Be yourself! These are all just tips but the most important thing is for your family to feel at ease and happy with the photos from your shoot. So, don't forget to pick outfits that represent who you are.

A perfect example:
This family chose colors that work well against green, coordinated but did not match exactly, used a few patterns, and added just a touch of accessories! Good job G family!

I"ll Have My Cake & Eat It Too!

Probably one of my most favorite types of sessions are first birthday cake smashes! Why? Well, because who doesn't like to see a baby get messy and spread sugary frosting all over their body?? Maya took that cake and showed it who is in charge. She is a super special girl to me and not only because she is my best friend's daughter, but because she was my first EVER newborn that I photographed... and this month she is turning TWO! Where does the time go...?  Now, enjoy this throwback from 2014:
